Based on the importance of promoting the concept and institutionalization of social and democratic accountability, Ta'awon launched  the National Coalition for Social Accountability.

The Coalition for Social Accountability is one of the activities of the Partners for Social Accountability Program to strengthen the concept of accountability at the national level," said the director of the Partners for Social Accountability Program  Suhad Kasbari. The coalition consists of a group of local institutions that work In the area of ​​accountability to promote society as a whole from the accountability of those responsible for service delivery. 


"The coalition includes 52 different community institutions to promote good governance, and we hope that the coalition will expand further to achieve its main objectives," said coalition coordinator Azmi Shekir".


The coalition will contribute to empower Palestinian civil society, especially young people, to exercise social accountability for municipalities and ministries in the provision of public services, as well as awareness of citizens' rights and responsibilities within the framework of social accountability.


"Youth is an active member that we have to invest in at various levels and within society," said Karam Abu Hala, Executive Manager of AL-Bireh Cultural Club, adding to that joyning youth with the coalition it will contribute their involvement in society and will contribute  lobbying that will influence decision-makers to develop and improve the services they provide.

Ta'awon aims to reinforcement the concepts of peace, dialogue, reconciliation and non-violence within the Palestinian society by targeting the youth group as  main tool for change.
