
Taawon for Conflict Resolution – Secretary-General of the Palestinian Trade Union Federation Visits Training on Dialogue and Union Mediation
Participants in today’s training on dialogue and mediation within labor unions welcomed Shaher Saad, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Trade Union Federation, who delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of promoting a culture of dialogue as a fundamental approach to resolving labor disputes, and the role of mediation in reinforcing justice and fairness within the trade union movement.
In his speech, Saad stressed the Federation’s commitment to supporting union initiatives aimed at strengthening solidarity among workers and creating spaces for constructive dialogue with various parties, contributing to improved working conditions and enhanced social stability. He also welcomed the partnership with Taawon for Conflict Resolution in implementing such training programs, highlighting its vital role in building the capacities of union members and enhancing their working methods.
For his part, Dr. Hani Samirat, Executive Director of Taawon for Conflict Resolution, underscored the importance of this type of training in equipping union members with practical tools to manage conflicts peacefully, noting that investing in the capacities of union staff strengthens their leadership role in protecting labor rights and improving the work environment.
This training is part of the “Dialogue and Mediation in Labor Unions” project, implemented by Taawon for Conflict Resolution and funded by the Olof Palme International Center.
