Completing the initiatives of the Good Governance Project
Dr. Siddam meets with Al-Zawiya-Salfit Initiative Committee

Ta'awon for Conflict Resolution has launched various initiatives in the education, health and community participation sector within the Good Governance Project funded by the Olof Palma in 2018. During the initiatives, Al-Zawia-Salfit elementary institutions raised the issue of  students overcrowding.Ta'awon and the grass-roots institutions held a series of workshops, hearing sessions and a documentary film on the problem to ask the authorities to solve this problem in the town's schools.


By the beginning of 2019, a donor decided to donate 800,000 shekels worth of land and build a new school. Dr. Sabri Saydam invite the related institutions for a meeting Attended by Mr. Naim Hamouda, Mayor of Al-Zawia Municipality, Mr. Sufian Al-Salhi, donor representative, Mr. Tawfiq Abu Eid, representative of the Reconstruction Committee, journalist Azmi Abdel karim, representative of Abdul Qader Abu Nabaa Center, Mr. Hani Smirat, Director of Good Governance Program, The meeting launched a follow-up technical committee. 

 

Samirat pointed out that advocacy campaigns, and accountability sessions are very important in meeting the needs of civil society, which is an effective and powerful tool and reflects the strength of civil mobility in achieving the goals.
