Empowerment of Palestinian Youth and women organizations to enhance good governance is a way to develop responsible, creative and active citizens who are engaged with issues now and throughout their adult lives. Typically the public issue young people & women work on also concern and touch the lives of all people in their communities; at home, work, in faith communities and in recreation for example. Public organizations are now required to have viable, authentic and meaningful engagement with young people, and Empowerment of Palestinian Youth to enhance good governance is one especially such vibrant and effective way to meet this commitment to the civic development of young people, for the women role in society it became a fact that women themselves and women arganizatiosn are key players in the social change movement.
Empowerment of Palestinian Youth & women to enhance good governance believes that both traget groups, regardless of their age and sex, are citizens now. It is our goal to encourage young citizens & women to understand that they have the power to be creators of society, not simply consumers. Empowerment of Palestinian Youth & women to enhance good governance strives to inspire young people & women to be active citizens, and to take responsibility for the society in which we live, and the future we would like to create.
This project is a response to the urgent need of Palestinian Youth & women to concentrate their potentials and efforts in the reconstruction process, and might be considered as an exit of Youth & women in the targeted areas from the critical political situation that Palestinian territories are suffering from since 2000 year.
The project purpose is to strengthen and enhance the role of women and youth organizations in practicing the norms and principles of Active Citizenship and Good Governance by affecting decsion makers towards interactive collaboration between citizins and the Palestinian Authority
1.1 To empower and build the capacity of partner organizations (Youth & women organizations with a greater understanding of the goals, strategies and activities being undertaken by them based on the concept of good governance and active citizenship.
1.2 Enhance the contribution of local CBO's and NGO's toward the promotion of good governance approach
*2.1 Explore viable ways and means of capacity building of civil societies, and strengthening the role of civil society organizations in promoting good governance and serving as a link between governments and the public at large and explore new approaches for promoting accountability, transparency, and responsiveness of government administration to the people;
* 2.2 Enhance the role of the citizens in the evolving patterns and trends of democratic governance
* 3.1To support local youth and women organizations in developing the good goverenance audit system to be used and adopted by civil society
* 3.2Reinforce the concept of partnership among the local society sectors mainly the governmental sector and the civil society sector throgh enging them in the monitoring, execution, follow up and evaluation of the local governments performance.
