Signing an agreement between Ta’awon for Conflict Resolution and the Representative Office of Finland

Ta’awon for Conflict Resolution, represented by its board  member Mr. Sami Hassouneh, signed an agreement with the Representative Office of Finland, represented by Ambassador Anna-Kaisa Heikkinen, to implement the project of “Palestinian Women in Conflict Prevention and Peace building”. The kick-off signing meeting was conducted, Tuesday July 30, 2019 at Ta’awon for Conflict Resolution office at Al Bireh.

The proposed project aims to empower women champions to lead interventions and advocacy that ultimately increase their participation in national efforts for peace and security. This will be achieved through building the capacities of women leaders in most conflict affected vulnerable communities in conflict analysis, prevention, and resolution.  The project will establish Women-Led Conflict Prevention Unitsat the Community Based Organizations/Community level to lead action. The project will be implemented in 14 months duration in 2 localities in East Jerusalem (Hizma and Shufat), and 2 localities in Hebron (Yatta-village, and old city-H2).
