In partnership with the Palestinian Police through Development of cooperation mechanism between civil police and local communities in Salfit District program, Taawon held a preparatory meeting in Salfit to introduce the local community about the program in presence of representatives of the Palestinian Police, representatives of the local community, and active grass roots institutions in process of reactivating Community Policing Participation Committees (CPPC) at the community level. However the invitations were sent to all active grass roots,active youth and women,in addition of active individuals.
At the beginning of the meeting the lieutenant colonel Moath Jaber welcomed the attendees specially Ta'awon team and he assured on the importance of the role of these community policing participation committees and the integrated responsibility between the police and the (CPPC'S) adding that every citizen must carry that responsibility to maintain the safety of his country and forming these (CPPC'S) will help citizens to solve their problems before happening.
Mrs. Hanan Sabbah as a representative of Ta'awon welcomed the attendees and valued the joint cooperation between the local community and the police she began her speech by introducing Ta'awon and it's activities, wishing the succsess of the project.
The idea was welcomed by the local community hoping the success and continuity of the implementation of the second phase. Finally the discussion was opened and the attendees asked and the police answered the questions. A membership for the (CPPC'S) application were distributed and the application will be sorted and the members will be selected within the criteria attached to the application.
The session ended by thanking the participants and their cooperation with us in the success of this first meeting to continue this cooperation to achieve the desired results.
